Early Years Initial Teacher Training

The KTSA are delighted to be working with our colleagues at the Cornwall Early Years Teaching School and Best Practice Network to offer EYITT in Cornwall Devon & Torbay 


This qualification is fully funded and has two different entry routes.

• Graduate Employment Based Route

Key Features

 fully funded by the National College for Teaching and Leadership  £7,000 employer incentive available to cover release and other costs  completed over 12 months  part-time training, whilst employed in an early years setting/school  experience needed in at least two settings across to birth to five  placement within Key Stage 1 (5-7 year olds)  training days, normally once or twice a month  a personal tutor to support you

• Graduate Entry Route

Key Features

 fully funded by the National College for Teaching and Leadership  bursary for 1st class, 2:1 and 2:2 degree holders (£5,000 / £4,000/ £2,000)  completed over 12 months, full-time  120 days placement across birth to five age-range  training days, normally once a month  assignments and an eportfolio over the 12 months as part of your assessment  a personal tutor to support you

(A third route is available - Assessment only but self – funded)

Degree – 3rd and above – any discipline, Maths, English & Science at GCSE C or above (some equivalences are acceptable)

If you already hold the Early years Practitioner course you are not eligible to take this programme
